TNT Day 44 - nothing to report

 5 Nov

Map 30 & 31: (tent) osawa pond -> Iwao pond -> shigarakigushi station -> shigaraki palace ruins -> misujino falls (tent)

Was a misty morning but eventually the blue sky broke through.

Goodbye my highrise campsite.

Iwao pond

I went into shinden, a one road community, and out of shinden, it was a very short road. The trail out is 'closed' but it is actually a nice sealed road then a dirt road and then an old forest track that has half washed away. So closed for cars yes but very easily walked.

There is also some nice new weir construction where the dirt road becomes a washout.

I had a couple more of these great signs popup today.

Shin-meishin expressway

Up some stairs.

Down some 'stairs'.

Scooters in weird places, maybe it was once a road...

Shigarakigushi Station

The shigarakigushi area seems to be all about ceramics.

Some autumn colours!!

A fun-gi.

More autumn colours at the shigaraki palace ruins.

The sign says something along the lines of "be careful there is a hole in the right side of the bridge".

There were patches of dead pines, it looks like the terraces had become waterlogged, probably leading to root rot and eventually death.

The next town I passed through was tashiro, most of the houses were built in traditional styles and there were a bunch with very impressive walls. A cursory google didn't reveal to me why this is.

At the top of the town there is an impressive Buddhist temple, Gokurakuji, Shinto shrine, Tenmangu, and flash community centre.

Out of town and I reached misujino falls, my camp spot for the night.
